The Mermaid’s Tears Awaken the Sea God

About this drama

A baby mermaid is left behind in a seaside town, and a mother and her young daughter take her in and raise her as Aria. She grows up ordinary in every way but one: when she cries, her tears harden into pearls. For years the secret stays inside the house. Then the woman who raised her works out what the weeping is worth, and the family's comfort begins to rest on how often Aria can be made to suffer. Luna, the daughter, watches the sister she grew up with being hollowed out for profit and decides she cannot stay silent. She leaves home alone to bring Aria back, with no plan beyond that and a town full of people who have heard about the pearls.
