The Secret Critic Beside Me

About this drama

One anonymous account stands between Christopher Hayes and a pro contract. The St. Andrew University quarterback is a single game away from the draft, and for months a hater posting as DownByThree has been dismantling his every move in public. Christopher reads each post. He wants the author found and buried. After one bad loss he humiliates a bookworm named Eli Connelly in the tunnel. Then Eli's phone drops, and the lockscreen is a photo of Christopher mid-throw. The star draws the obvious, wrong conclusion: a lovesick fan. The audience already knows better. Eli is DownByThree. The plot tightens from there. Eli moves into Christopher's house, and the two rivals share a bedroom, twin beds side by side. Blackmailed into hunting down his own hater, Eli plays the devoted fan while knowing Christopher better than anyone alive. Hostility softens into pursuit. The line between hater and lover blurs down to nothing. When the truth finally surfaces, it lands twice. The cruelest posts were planted by a corrupt agent, and Eli had loved him from afar long before he ever hated him. On championship night, Christopher has to pick between the contract and the boy who sees every crack in him, the one sleeping one bed away. The Secret Critic Beside Me is a 40-episode college BL romance on YourChannel with an enemies-to-lovers engine and a blackmail subplot. It is built for viewers who like their romance engineered out of rivalry, and their rivals sharing a room neither can leave.
