Barton and Rose built their life out of nothing, and their son Lucas built it higher. When the two of them go to visit him, they are treated as an inconvenience by his wife Alice. The humiliation does not stop at words. She sets her dog on Barton. The old couple are held illegally, and Barton pays for it with his right arm. Lucas finds out what happened and starts gathering what he needs to answer it. Alice tries to leave by faking proof, and the lie turns against her. The house stops being Alice's. A physiotherapist named Sarah becomes part of the household while Barton works through what was done to him, and Lucas, who had been looking at his own life without seeing it, finds that the person helping his father is the person he cannot stop thinking about.
