Bride at the Don’s Price

About this drama

Claire Vale is being married off to Ethan Cole, a gambler, and the wedding is a business arrangement nobody told her the terms of. It lasts until the San Francisco Don, Julian De Luca, walks in and shows the room what Ethan is doing with the ring on her finger. Ethan is marrying her for her inheritance, and he needs eight million dollars by morning. Julian takes it apart, then offers her something nobody else has: protection that comes with conditions but not with control. Her mother was murdered, and left a trail of clues for whoever was still looking. Claire follows them past her father, her stepmother, and a stepsister with a claim to the estate that is not hers, into a port scheme that ties both families to the killing. What she has is evidence. What she needs is the kind of power that makes evidence count.
