More Than A Best Friend

About this drama

The source for this entry is a five-sentence logline of 345 characters, and two transcription facts come first: the platform decorates the text with five emoji marks, a hushed face, a fire, a hot face, a crown, and a heart-on-fire pair that prints as joined code points, recorded here as a list and removed from the flow; and the apostrophe in Ethan's is a curly one, transcribed here straight. The closing sentence is a question aimed at the viewer, recorded as printed. What the source states: Ethan is the golden straight jock. Caleb is his fiercely possessive best friend who refuses the friendzone. Terrified of rumors, Ethan fake-dates a girl. But when Caleb teases his zipper under a crowded desk, Ethan's double life is pushed to the edge. Will he keep his fake mask, or stand on a cafeteria table to claim his secret boy? The premise is one closet held up by one fake date and tested by one public tease, and the line stops on the either-or question, so no ending is stated. Both leads are male and the source states the attraction directly, one of two male-pairing entries in this batch. Three catalog facts frame the entry. The run is thirty-five episodes, one of three entries at that length. The registry column lists 9 against the API's thirty-five, part of this batch's systematic split between free counts and full counts, disclosed with the API figure used here. The counter reads 2,095 views, eighth of twenty, in the upper half. The byline is qinjiu_scene_ca, one of four entries under it in this batch, and the platform marks the series completed.
