Locked Twice
About this drama
Locked Twice is written in the first person, and I'll keep that voice, since the copy's force depends on it. Liam lost his memory, but he only forgot about me. His sister rescued me from the iron chain in the apartment and gave me millions of dollars in hush money. I thought this was fate's compensation, and I took the money intending to have nothing more to do with him from then on. Then the pull of the genre takes over. As soon as I left, I was dragged back into the abyss. When I woke up, his breath completely enveloped me, and the familiar pathological possessiveness reignited in those eyes. He forgot our past, but he fell in love with me at first sight again. The same imprisonment, tighter chains. This time, he didn't give me any room to escape. The closing image is the narrating self holding the bank card he gave her and realizing she had become addicted to this second degree of madness, which is where the title's arithmetic lands: the captivity happens twice, and the second one is chosen from the inside. I'll state plainly that this is a dark possessive romance with imprisonment at its center, and the copy frames that framing as romance rather than horror. Thirty-two episodes. What the listing never explains is why Liam's memory singled her out for erasure, or what the sister's hush money was protecting, and both stay open here.
