About this drama

Rowan Mercer is twenty-seven, running his late father's pet shop, and losing. The shop is behind on rent, the debts come to a hundred thousand dollars, and the animals in the back are the only company he has. Then an accident leaves him with a change he cannot explain: he can hear them. Not noises, but what they mean. A dog that saw something, a parrot repeating the wrong conversation, a cat that knows which door the money went through. Rowan starts using it. He takes on the scams that walk past the police, joins rescues that put him in the way of real danger, and slowly builds a network of animals across Los Angeles that report back to him.
