He Bought His Ex
About this drama
Eli's family enterprise was ruined by Sylus's family years ago, and the copy doesn't soften what that did to him, it drove him to a desperate life as an escort. The two cross paths again at an underground club, which reignites tangled hatred and lingering old love at the same time, and Sylus's response is the title of the show: he buys Eli's one-month contract to keep him by force. Eli's countermove runs underneath, he hides a ruthless revenge plan, plotting to ruin Sylus's business and family. Then the triangle widens, a cold-blooded killer named Jax also falls for Eli, forming what the copy calls a dangerous love triangle. As the scheme runs, family betrayal and hidden trauma unfold, and the three trap each other in a vortex of desire, hatred and sacrifice. I'll be straight about the shape of this one, it's a revenge romance where both leads have legitimate grievances and the love story grows out of the damage rather than despite it. The resolution the copy gives is twofold: after countless confrontations, fights and painful revelations, Sylus abandons his wealth to atone, and Eli finally lets go of vengeance, the two rebuilding a genuine relationship from all their ashes. Fifty-one episodes. What's unlisted is what Jax does when he loses, which of the family betrayals gets exposed first, and whether the one-month contract formally ends before the ending does. The destination is mutual, the road there is not gentle.
