Can a Priest Love?
About this drama
Kyle was a libertine once. Then he abandoned his merman lover, became a devout priest, and spent seven years hiding the whole chapter. The lover is Luciel, an octopus siren, and this is a dark fantasy BL built on what happens when the past walks back through the church door. Luciel returns to confront Kyle over the heartbreak and the abandonment, and the two of them fall into a tug-of-war between lingering love and bitter resentment, conducting forbidden affection under the eye of a biased bishop who applies pressure from the institution's side. The mythology gets darker from there. A man-made tsunami and a deadly deep-sea blood curse surface as hidden truths, which reframes the abandonment as something with a body count attached. Kyle's choice is the spine of the back half: keep the priestly identity, or go back to the merman he hurt deeply. The reconciliation is honestly priced, costing something, with sacrifice, separation, and an everlasting longing that stretches across the sea, so don't expect a clean reunion. Thirty-one episodes. What's unlisted is who caused the tsunami and what the blood curse demands of either man, and those two blanks are where the drama concentrates. The church setting does real work here, since the bishop's bias makes the institution itself an antagonist rather than a backdrop.
