Between her and him
About this drama
Between her and him runs on a triangle with the angles filed off. Two elite swimmers, Dominic and Sebastian. Isabella, Dominic's public girlfriend. Dominic is charismatic and manipulative, indulging secret intimate chemistry with the talented, sensitive Sebastian while maintaining a perfect romantic image for Isabella. Sebastian sees the dual-sided hypocrisy clearly. He cannot tear himself away from the bond anyway. Training days fill up with jealousy, hidden touches, constant emotional torment. The show is honest about the shape of this: a painful, tender attachment that survives on stolen moments. After countless quarrels and silent heartbreak, Isabella exposes the affair. That is the pivot. Dominic ends his two-year relationship with Isabella and chooses Sebastian, and the two drowning souls, in the show's own image, find peace amid endless underwater entanglement and lingering yearning. The swimming setting does real work here. Water is where the secret lives, and the pool is where the lie has to be performed daily. Weak points: Isabella exists mostly as a fuse. Strong points: the show knows its melodrama lane and stays in it. No character here is stupid, which is rarer than it should be in this genre. Everyone knows exactly what they are doing. Including Isabella, by the end.
