The Inherited Wife

About this drama

She marries a man everyone in her family has written off, a quiet figure in a wheelchair with no money and no prospects, and takes the mockery that comes with it. She does not know that the man she is pushing down the aisle is the richest person in the country. Neither do the relatives, who spend the reception making jokes at her expense and congratulating themselves on getting rid of her cheaply. Then, partway through the ceremony, he stands up. The room goes quiet in stages, and the people who were loudest begin to understand what they have been saying, and to whom.
