The Godfather's Obsession
About this drama
Lucien adopts Ezra, the son of his deceased friend, and the copy tells you up front what kind of guardian he is: a top Wall Street old-money tycoon, cold and restrained on the surface, harbouring morbid possessiveness and a secret obsession toward the boy. When Ezra comes of age he grows weary of the suffocating control and provokes Lucien repeatedly, and that tug-of-war is the engine for the first stretch. Then the copy drops its first bomb: Ezra discovers Lucien once had a hidden affair with his birth father, and believes he is merely a substitute. Desperate, he resolves to make Lucien succumb completely. I'll be honest about the shape of this one, it's dark, and the blurb itself calls it intense dark love and ultimate mutual salvation, so you know the destination before you board. The external plot arrives through Richard, a family traitor who stages a power grab while a scandal goes viral. To protect Ezra, Lucien abandons his trillion-dollar empire, and Ezra fights back on his side with elite hackers and lawyers. The image the copy ends on is the two of them kissing boldly before global cameras, breaking worldly taboos. Thirty episodes. What's unlisted is how the affair revelation gets resolved, whether substitute is what Ezra actually was, and what the mutual salvation costs each of them. Go in expecting the obsession to be taken seriously, not softened.
