The Bet Heir
About this drama
Three months. One bet. No falling in love. The official copy opens with its own terms of service, so I'll honor the format. Wes Voss is a broke art student who makes a reckless wager: make cold billionaire heir Chase Sterling fall for him, then dump him, all to get back at his ex. The copy asks and answers its own question, easy, right? Wrong, and the reason is the oldest one in the genre, Chase isn't just a rich jerk, he's lonely, he's broken, and he's the first person who's ever really seen Wes. When the truth comes out it shatters everything, which you'd expect. The bombshell underneath is the part that turns this from a bet romance into something heavier: Wes's father didn't die in an accident fifteen years ago, he was murdered, and the man who did it is Chase's own father. So the two of them end up fighting for love and justice at the same time, two boys from opposite worlds standing together against the truth, with the copy's closer hanging over all of it, and the Sterling family doesn't lose. Forty-nine episodes. What's unlisted is how Wes finds out about the murder, whether the bet's exposure and the murder revelation are the same event, and what justice looks like against a family that doesn't lose. The premise is simple, the backdrop isn't.
