Swallowed Whole by the Mafia Boss
About this drama
Ellis Thorne is an elite lawyer who gets kidnapped by the most dangerous mafia boss in Italy, and the copy sets up its inversion in one line: he expects torture, but what he gets is obsession. Forced to defend Lorenzo Falcone while secretly spying for his boyfriend, police officer Troy, Ellis finds himself caught between two powerful men. Then the truth lands, and it's the kind that rearranges the entire story: the man he loved orchestrated his parents' deaths and planned to sacrifice him all along. That's Troy, the boyfriend, the cop, the person who sent him in. So the spying was the trap, and the spy was the target. From there the copy states its thesis plainly, the mafia king he swore to destroy becomes the only man willing to save him, and it closes on a world of betrayal, revenge, and irresistible temptation, where justice has never been so dangerously seductive. I'd flag the shape of that ending, since it's a thesis rather than a plot. Whether Lorenzo is exonerated, what happens to Troy once his orchestration surfaces, and how the defense actually plays out in court are all unlisted. Thirty episodes. The pull of the premise is that both relationships were coerced, one by kidnapping and one by a boyfriend's design, and the copy only tells you which man is still standing beside Ellis when the dust settles.
