My Stepdad Calls Me Pretty Baby
About this drama
Eden Price comes home from college with the ordinary plan: family, boyfriend, a summer to breathe. Instead she opens a door on her boyfriend in bed with her mother. That sentence is the premise of My Stepdad Calls Me Pretty Baby, and the drama does not soften it: devastated, Eden runs, and keeps running until someone stops her. The someone is Garrett Shaw, her hot new stepfather, who finds her wrecked on the roadside and does the decent thing, shelter, comfort, no agenda. From that decency, something less proper grows. Real feelings develop between stepdaughter and stepfather, and the show leans into the uncomfortable heat of it rather than apologizing for the premise. Of course, nothing this transgressive stays private. Her jealous ex, freshly dumped and freshly entitled, starts circling to win her back or ruin what replaced him. Her mother, the same mother caught in that bed, has zero moral standing and maximum spite, and stops at nothing to destroy the blossoming romance she cannot tolerate. So the love story runs fenced on all sides: an ex with a grudge, a mother with a guilty conscience, and a household where everyone has already crossed a line. Eden, the one person who was wronged first, has to decide whether the one person who caught her when she fell is worth the scandal of choosing him.
