His Bastard Savage King
About this drama
Elias is a human researcher who gets accidentally teleported to a savage beastman world through a spatial rift, and the welcome is about what you'd expect: Kael, the wolf clan chief, takes him captive as the prophesied Rift Key. The complication the copy builds the show on is the triangle. Kael and Ronan, a leopard warrior, once shared a secret romance, and both grow obsessed with the calm, rational newcomer. What follows is a tangled dynamic the blurb describes as full of jealousy, possession and subtle tension, and I'd add the captivity problem to that list, since the story starts with Elias as a prisoner. The mechanism that binds the three is ancestral soul marks that link their pain together, which the copy uses to force intimacy before trust. Through that link the three uncover the rift's deadly secret, the thing that made Elias the Key in the first place. The resolution the copy gives is structural rather than purely romantic: they overcome tribal prejudice and dimensional crises, abandon the forced captivity, and build a genuine equal bond, choosing to guard the fractured world side by side. Note the order there, the captivity gets abandoned on the way to the equality, and that's the whole arc in miniature. Thirty-one episodes. What's unlisted is what the rift's deadly secret actually is and what guarding the world asks of them day to day, so the worldbuilding is the show's to fill in.
